Injecting equipment available
RUSH carries a full range of injecting equipment, including fitpacks, needles, barrels, filters, tourniquets, water, spoons and swabs. Just drop in and we’ll give them to you on the spot.
Alternatively, our Thursday Outreach Service can deliver the equipment you need locally. Just place an order by 2pm Wednesday afternoon and we’ll deliver your order on the Thursday of that week.
Need a quick reference to what equipment is available? Take a look at our handy Injecting Equipment guide.
New sizes of needle in stock:
We now have 23g x 1" (0.6 x 25mm) needles (blue).
We now have 30g x 1/2" (0.3 x 13mm) needles available. These are the smallest needles that we offer, if there is sufficient demand we'll make them a standard stock item.
The coloured Unisharp 1ml syringes are now in stock at Brookvale and RNS. Available in 2 needle sizes; 27g & 29g.
Safe disposal
Safe disposal of injecting equipment isn’t just about protecting yourself, it’s about protecting your friends, family and the community. We’re not just talking needles, either – swabs, tourniquets and even water should be disposed of responsibly. Remember, once it’s been opened, it’s no longer sterile.
RUSH takes any used equipment for disposal. We also offer a range of disposal containers.
Whether it's for yourself or you want to provide disposal facilities for others, you’ll find more information on our Safe Disposal page.
Needle clean-up
If you’ve found a used syringe, we don’t recommend trying to dispose of it yourself. Call us on 9388 5110 or 0412 266 226 or the NSW Needle Clean Up Hotline on 1800 633 353 (1800 NEEDLE).
If it’s vital that you deal with found equipment immediately, be sure to read our safe handling guide first.
Support services
As well as providing clean injecting equipment, RUSH offers advice, education, support and counselling services free of charge. We also provide referrals to various other medical and community social services. So if there’s anything you need help with, let us know – chances are we can either help you directly, or put you in touch with someone who can.
Of course, in the case of an overdose or any other situation requiring immediate attention, call an ambulance or visit your local hospital’s Emergency Department as soon as possible.
All the services we provide are anonymous and confidential.
Get in touch, or just drop in.
