Needle & Syringe Program
Responsive User Services in Health Northern Sydney Local Health District

Outreach

RUSH provides a free Outreach service. Outreach aims to make and maintain contact with people who may have difficulty getting to our primary or secondary outlets or disposal sites. This could be due to geographic remoteness, a lack of transport or disability.

We deliver to as far north as Brooklyn, south to Milsons Point and as far west as Dural. Outreach provides everything that our primaries do – confidential and discreet access to a full range of clean injecting equipment, returns of used equipment, and face-to-face contact with our health education workers. We can enable brief interventions, and provide information about reducing the harm associated with substance use. We also provide referrals to services in the local area.

When does Outreach run?

Outreach runs each Thursday, and all orders need to have been received by 3pm on Wednesday.

If you won't be able to receive the delivery from us personally, you'll need to let us know a safe place where we can leave it. Just give us a call on 9388 5110 or 0412 266 226 to let us know what you need.

Sharps on commercial premises

RUSH does not accept commercial sharps waste. If your business generates sharps waste it is your responsibility to arrange appropriate disposal, as with other waste streams. There are a number of companies that provide sharps waste disposal services in the Sydney area.
